FLEXIBILITY

Our Flexibility classes are specially designed to help people build flexibility in order to achieve more advanced goals, eg splits, bridge, forward fold. That being said, these classes are open to all, whether you can’t touch your toes or can fold in half, all stretches can be made easier or more advanced. The benefits of stretching and flexibility are extensive, and is a massively important part of any exercise plan that should not be ignored. Even just 1 stretch session per week can have a positive impact on everyday life. Here are just some of the pro’s:

  • Reduced muscle tightness

  • Reduced delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)

  • Increased circulation

  • Reduced stress

All stretches will be performed in a safe and effective manner, with a large focus on active flexibility. We have a different approach to stretching than most, and we like to ensure that all students know how to establish the difference between feeling discomfort through a stretch feeling unfamiliar and pain, meaning that the body has pushed into a range it cannot control. Your instructor will ensure that all students are engaging the appropriate muscles in order to build strength within the range of motion they are trying to achieve, which we believe is the the best and most sustainable method of training flexibility. It can feel very rewarding to be able to achieve such control over your body, and many people use stretching as an outlet for getting rid of the stresses of everyday life.
